Spider Veins
Spider veins are the tiny red and blue veins usually seen on the back of the leg as you get older. They are a condition that is prominent in over a third of the population. While they are typically a cosmetic problem alone and don’t signal any serious circulation issue, many patients will seek treatment to restore a healthy and blemish-free appearance to their skin. In some cases, however, spider veins can cause an itching or burning sensation.
How Are Spider Veins Different From Varicose Veins?
Spider veins are much smaller than varicose veins and usually don’t cause pain or discomfort. They are simply a cosmetic concern. Varicose veins, on the other hand, can be larger and more painful. They often occur on the legs and can cause swelling, heaviness, and aching.
While spider veins are not nearly as painful or serious as varicose veins, it may still be beneficial for your health and quality of life to have spider veins removed through one of our effective vein treatments.
